Glossary

This glossary collects the specific words Jason Donaldson uses for his work: energy healing, Sekhem, breathwork, tarot, and the starseed language that runs through his sessions. Each term below links to a short, clear definition.

Energy healing and Sekhem terms

• What is energy healing? A general term for practices that work with the body's energy field rather than through talk or touch alone.
• What is Reiki? A Japanese-origin energy healing practice; Jason does not practice Reiki, he practices Sekhem.
• What is Sekhem? An Egyptian-lineage energy healing practice, sometimes called Egyptian Reiki, that Jason is certified in as a master practitioner.
• What is Egyptian energy healing? The broader family of practice Sekhem belongs to, connected to the Neteru and ancient Egypt.
• What is Seichim? A spelling variant of Sekhem used by some teachers and lineages.
• What is SKHM? Another spelling variant for the same Egyptian-lineage energy family.
• What is an energy healing session? What actually happens during a 90 minute Sekhem session with Jason.
• What is a healing crisis? A temporary intensifying of symptoms or emotion after energy work, before it settles.
• What are chakras? Energy centers in the body's field, including the soul chakra and earth chakra central to Sekhem.

Tarot terms

• What is tarot? A deck-based reading practice Jason has used since 2007, read as a healer rather than a fortune teller.

Starseed and consciousness terms

• What is a starseed? A soul whose origin traces to a star system or lineage beyond Earth.
• What is a lightworker? Someone whose path centers on helping others heal and awaken.
• What are the Akashic records? A described complete record of everything a soul has experienced across every lifetime.
• What is ascension? A shift into a higher level of consciousness, individually and collectively.

Breathwork terms

• What is breathwork? Guided conscious breathing used to shift energy and awareness; Jason's own version is Galactic Breathing.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Jason use words like Sekhem, Neteru, and starseed instead of more common terms?

Because they describe his practice accurately. Sekhem is a distinct lineage from Reiki, and the Neteru and starseed language reflect how he and his teachers actually understand and work with this energy. See Sekhem vs Reiki for a full comparison.

I only recognize one or two of these words. Where should I start?

Start with what is energy healing if you are new to this altogether, or what is Sekhem if you already know you want to understand Jason's specific practice.
