Healing Crisis, Definition

A healing crisis is a temporary intensifying of symptoms or emotion after energy work, before things settle and clarify. Here is what Jason sees in sessions.

A healing crisis is a period, usually lasting a day or two, where a person feels more rather than less after energy work: more emotional, more tired, or more aware of something that had been sitting quietly under the surface. It is not a setback. It is usually a sign that something has been stirred loose and is moving through.

What this looks like after a Sekhem session

Jason's sessions are followed by an integration window that can run for days to a week. During that time, some people describe emotion surfacing or moments of clarity that show up unannounced. These experiences are personal and are not presented as expected or guaranteed outcomes. Jason is direct about the limits of this work: energy healing supports a person's own process, it does not remove a condition or replace medical or mental health care, and some things are not meant to be removed, because the healing is the path the person is walking. A healing crisis is not evidence that something went wrong.

Why this matters before you book

Knowing this ahead of time changes how a person experiences the day or two after a session. Without context, a wave of unexpected emotion or a night of vivid, unsettled dreams can feel alarming. With context, it reads as part of the process, the same way soreness after a hard workout signals that something is being worked through, not that something is broken. Jason talks about this openly with clients, precisely because unprepared clients sometimes misread a normal integration period as a bad outcome.

This is also why Jason builds in structure around sessions rather than leaving people to process alone: a debrief at the end of the appointment, and an invitation to reach out if something that surfaces feels like more than they can hold on their own. Both Sekhem energy healing and Galactic Breathing sessions include this kind of built-in integration time, rather than sending a client out the door with no context for what might come next in the days that follow.

Frequently asked questions

Is a healing crisis dangerous?

No, but it is real, and it is worth taking seriously rather than ignoring. If anything you experience feels like a medical or mental health emergency, that is outside the scope of energy work, and anyone in crisis should call 988 in the US. For everyday post-session intensity, see what to expect in a session or read more on what an energy healing session involves.

How long does a healing crisis usually last?

In Jason's sessions, the integration period after a Sekhem session often runs from a day to about a week, with the work continuing quietly after the appointment itself ends.
